BJP felicitates Ladakh’s Int’l Pencak Silat Athletes

LEH: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ladakh, on Monday felicitated two international athletes from the Union Territory for representing India at the 10th Senior Asian Pencak Silat Championship in Vietnam, while congratulating Skarma Dawa Zeasal for securing a bronze medal and acknowledging Stanzin Tsewang for her representation at the continental event.

In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of BJP Ladakh State President Tashi Gyaltson Khachu and party members, the BJP described the medal-winning performance as a moment of pride for Ladakh and the country, stating that the achievement reflected the growing presence of athletes from the Union Territory on the international sporting stage.

Skarma Dawa Zeasal, daughter of Shri Tsering Paldan and a resident of Gya Meru, was commended for winning the bronze medal for India at the championship. The party said her accomplishment showcased dedication, perseverance and competitive excellence, bringing recognition to both Ladakh and the nation.

The BJP also congratulated Stanzin Tsewang, daughter of Shri Tashi Dorjey and a resident of Liktsey, for representing India at the championship. The party acknowledged her commitment and determination in competing at one of Asia’s premier Pencak Silat tournaments, describing her participation as a reflection of the growing sporting talent emerging from Ladakh.

Extending its best wishes, the party expressed confidence that both athletes would continue to achieve success in national and international competitions and inspire young sportspersons across the Union Territory through their discipline, hard work and dedication to sport.

The BJP said the achievements of the two athletes underscored the potential of Ladakh’s sporting community and reiterated its appreciation for their contribution in enhancing the region’s profile in international sporting competitions.
