ANANTNAG: The Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch (BTSM) held a workers’ meeting and joining programme at Tawheed Abad, Hiller, Anantnag, with several workers associated with the Congress and the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) formally joining the organisation.
The programme was chaired by Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday, State Secretary, BTSM, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, and organised by Tariq Ahmad Bhat, District Youth President, Anantnag. Participants discussed organisational matters and plans for expanding the Manch’s activities in the district.
BTSM State President Dr Vivek Sharma welcomed the new members and said the participation of people from different organisational and social backgrounds would broaden the organisation’s outreach.
He stressed the need for sustained grassroots engagement and greater public awareness of issues concerning Tibet and India-Tibet cultural and civilisational relations. He said the organisation would continue to conduct awareness programmes, facilitate public participation and promote dialogue through its district and grassroots units.
The organisers said the meeting also focused on strengthening BTSM’s organisational network in Anantnag and encouraging participation in programmes relating to Tibet, cultural heritage and India-Tibet relations.
Sharma appreciated the district and youth teams for organising the programme and called on the new and existing members to work together in a disciplined and constructive manner.
The Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch is a nationwide organisation that works on issues concerning India-Tibet relations and the Tibetan cause. Its organisational network includes units in Jammu and Kashmir.
The programme concluded with a call for greater organisational coordination and public outreach ahead of the Manch’s forthcoming activities.
