LEH: A two-day career awareness seminar aimed at familiarising students with opportunities in premier educational institutions and competitive examinations concluded on Friday in Leh and Kargil, drawing participation from students across the Union Territory.

Organised by Career Defence School in collaboration with the Education Department, the programme focused on admission pathways to institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the National Defence Academy (NDA), while also providing guidance on competitive examinations including JEE Main, NEET and RIMC.

The seminar was led by Career Defence School founder and CEO Vinay Rai and Administrative Officer Gagan Wadhwa, with coordination by Khan Jahangeer and Amir Suhail.

The Leh session was attended by Sheikh Adil, S. D. Namgail, District Planning Officer and Head of Department at DIET Leh, Anchay Yagdol. In Kargil, the programme was attended by Murtaza Khaleli and Dr. Sarwar Shahzad.

Addressing the students, Sheikh Adil encouraged them to remain resilient in the face of setbacks and emphasised the importance of confidence, communication skills and sustained effort in achieving career goals. S. D. Namgail described the seminar as an initiative that would broaden students’ awareness of opportunities available through national-level competitive examinations.

In Kargil, Murtaza Khaleli stressed the importance of discipline, hard work and ethical values in shaping students’ academic and professional journeys.

The seminar concluded with interactive question-and-answer sessions, where students sought guidance on eligibility criteria for NDA, preparation strategies for IIT entrance examinations, scholarships, hostel facilities, physical fitness requirements and the growing role of artificial intelligence in emerging career opportunities.
