KARGIL: A four-member academic team from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi, along with 30 teachers of Science, Mathematics and Economics, has arrived in Ladakh for a one-month expert teaching programme aimed at supporting Class 10 and 12 students ahead of the forthcoming CBSE examinations.

The programme has been initiated on the directions of Administrative Secretary, School Education, UT Ladakh, Bhanu Prabha, IAS. The Chief Education Officer, Kargil, welcomed the visiting CBSE officials and teachers as they arrived in the region.

The CBSE Academic Unit team comprises Anjali Chhabara, Al Hilal Ahmed, Dr Meena Sehrawat and Prachi Dixit. During their stay, the experts will provide academic guidance and support to teachers and students, with a focus on strengthening preparation for the Board examinations.

The visiting officials and resource persons were felicitated by Tsetan Dolker, in-charge Principal, DIET, and Ajaz Ahmad, DEPO, in the presence of officials from the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) and the Education Department, Kargil.

The Education Department expressed appreciation to the CBSE team for extending academic support to students and teachers in Ladakh.

Following the welcome programme, the visiting experts and teachers were assigned to their respective areas in Kargil, Drass, Chiktan and Sankoo, where they have commenced the month-long academic programme.

The initiative will focus on Science, Mathematics and Economics and is intended to provide additional academic support to students preparing for their Class 10 and 12 CBSE examinations.

The programme is part of the Education Department’s efforts to strengthen classroom support and improve learning outcomes, particularly for students appearing in the forthcoming Board examinations. The deployment of CBSE academic experts and subject teachers across different zones of Kargil is also expected to provide local teachers with additional academic guidance and exposure to specialised teaching support during the programme.
