KHALTSE: Deputy Commissioner, Sham, Kunzes Angmo (JKAS), on Wednesday directed officials to strengthen the implementation of flagship education schemes and expedite pending school infrastructure works to ensure that students across the district receive the intended benefits of government programmes.
Chairing a review meeting at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Sham, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the progress of major initiatives of the Education Department, with particular focus on PM-POSHAN, PM SHRI Schools and the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.
During the meeting, the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) and Zonal Resource Person (ZRP), Khaltse, presented a detailed overview of the implementation status of the flagship schemes, highlighting progress achieved across educational institutions in the district.
Reviewing the implementation of the programmes, Kunzes Angmo instructed the concerned officers to ensure their effective execution so that students receive quality educational support and the full benefits envisaged under the schemes.
The Deputy Commissioner also emphasised the need to provide separate functional toilets for girls and boys in every school, strengthen YATO Clubs, establish nutrition gardens and maintain hygiene standards in the preparation of midday meals under PM-POSHAN. She further directed education authorities to ensure the regular conduct of Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) to promote closer engagement between schools and parents.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of under-construction school buildings and assessed the availability of essential infrastructure, including drinking water and electricity, in educational institutions across Sham district.
Expressing concern over pending infrastructure works, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the concerned departments to accelerate their execution and ensure that all schools are equipped with basic facilities without delay to provide a conducive learning environment for students.
