Officials directed to identify villages for Pulse Mission

NUBRA: Deputy Commissioner Nubra Mukul Beniwal, IAS, has directed the Agriculture Department to identify two to three villages in Nubra for focused implementation of the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses, while reviewing the progress of AgriStack and other digital agriculture initiatives in the region.

Beniwal issued the directions during a virtual meeting with the Chief Agriculture Officer, Leh, and Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officers of the Agriculture Department to assess the implementation of AgriStack under the Digital Agriculture Mission and the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses.

The meeting reviewed farmer registration, creation of Farmer IDs and Land IDs, integration of digital land records, linkage with PM-KISAN and the development of farmer databases.

The Deputy Commissioner also took stock of the Digital Crop Survey and its implementation in Nubra, with emphasis on ensuring that the digital exercise is carried out effectively.

Beniwal stressed the need for timely implementation of the initiatives to facilitate effective delivery of agriculture-related services and benefits to farmers.

The review also covered the integration of digital land and farmer records with agriculture-related schemes, aimed at strengthening the database required for delivery of government services and benefits.

The Agriculture Department was directed to proceed with the identification of suitable villages for focused implementation of the pulse mission as part of the broader effort to advance the initiatives in Nubra.
