KARGIL: Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, on Tuesday inspected the ongoing construction of the Multi-Sports Complex in Kargil town and directed the concerned agencies to expedite the remaining works and aim for completion within the current year.

The inspection was conducted to assess the progress of the project and review its approved plan and design. Chief Planning Officer Kargil Kacho Mohd Hussain and other concerned officials accompanied the Deputy Commissioner.

During the inspection, Kumar sought details of the approved design, construction plan and present status of the project. Officials informed him that the Multi-Sports Complex is being constructed as a ground-plus-two-storey structure, with fabrication and related works expected to be completed shortly.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the agencies concerned to accelerate the remaining construction work while maintaining the prescribed quality standards and specifications. He also stressed the need to complete the project within the current year, if feasible.

The Multi-Sports Complex, being constructed at an estimated cost of around ₹49 crore, is intended to add to the sports infrastructure of Kargil town.
