KHALTSI: Deputy Commissioner Sham Kunzes Angmo (JKAS) on Monday directed all departments to complete preparations for the 80th Independence Day celebrations in a time-bound manner, emphasising close inter-departmental coordination to ensure the smooth conduct of the district-level national event.
Chairing a review meeting at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Khaltsi, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the preparedness of departments responsible for organising the celebrations and reviewed the progress of arrangements across various sectors.
The meeting focused on venue readiness, ceremonial parade arrangements, cultural programmes, electricity and drinking water supply, medical services, public address systems and other logistical requirements essential for the successful conduct of the Independence Day function.
Stressing the importance of coordinated planning, Kunzes Angmo instructed all departments to discharge their assigned responsibilities with diligence and ensure that every arrangement is completed well in advance of the celebrations.
She said the district administration was committed to conducting the national event in an orderly, dignified and patriotic manner, and called upon all departments to maintain close coordination throughout the preparatory phase.
Department-wise responsibilities were reviewed during the meeting, with officials outlining the status of their respective assignments and assuring the administration of full cooperation for the successful organisation of the event.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Sham Aijaz Malik (JKPS), Sub-Divisional Magistrates Mohd Sharif (Khaltsi) and Gurmet Namgail (Likir), Executive Engineer, Roads and Buildings Department, Ghulam Abass, Accounts Officer to the Deputy Commissioner Tashi Norboo, besides principals, headmasters and officers and officials of the concerned departments.
The review forms part of the district administration’s preparations for the 80th Independence Day celebrations, with departments tasked to complete all logistical and administrative arrangements ahead of the national event.
