LEH: Director General of Police (DGP), UT Ladakh, Anand Jain, on Friday visited the Police Training School (PTS), Stongsar, Chuchot, to review the ongoing Basic Training Course for Recruit Special Police Officers (SPOs), stressing the importance of discipline, integrity and professionalism in building an efficient and people-centric police force.
The visit was aimed at assessing the quality of training being imparted to the recruit SPOs, reviewing the institution’s infrastructure and interacting directly with trainees to understand their progress and overall experience during the training programme.
The DGP was accompanied by the Commandant, IRP 25th Battalion-cum-Principal, PTS Stongsar, along with other senior officers. During the visit, he toured various sections of the training school, inspected the infrastructure and amenities available for the recruits, and reviewed the facilities in detail.
He appreciated the efforts of the training institution in maintaining a conducive learning environment and providing the necessary infrastructure to prepare recruits for the challenges of policing.
Interacting with the Recruit SPOs, Anand Jain enquired about their well-being, training schedule and day-to-day experiences at the academy. Addressing the trainees, he highlighted that discipline, integrity, professionalism and continuous learning are the cornerstones of police service and urged them to imbibe these values throughout their careers.
The DGP also encouraged the recruits to maintain high standards of physical fitness, mental resilience and professional competence so that they are well-equipped to perform their duties effectively while upholding the highest standards of public service and public trust. The visit concluded with a group interaction, during which the DGP extended his best wishes to the Recruit SPOs for the successful completion of their training and a rewarding career in the service of the people of Ladakh.
