LEH: Delhi Public School (DPS), Leh, showcased exceptional sporting excellence by winning seven medals, including three gold and four silver, at the Zone-Level Inter-School Tournament for Higher Secondary & High Schools of Leh Zone (Boys & Girls) 2026–27, held from June 27 to 30 at Open Stadium, Spituk.
Competing against eight Higher Secondary Schools from across Leh Zone, DPS Leh athletes demonstrated remarkable skill, determination, discipline, and team spirit in football, volleyball, handball, table tennis, and athletics. Their outstanding performances earned the school a proud place among the tournament’s top achievers. Beyond the medal tally, the school’s teams delivered spirited performances across several events.
The closing ceremony was graced by Sonam Dorjey Namgail, Principal, DIET Leh, as the Chief Guest, while Sonam Wangchuk, Chief Education Officer, Leh/Kargil, attended as the guest of honour. The dignitaries congratulated the winners and commended all participating schools for fostering sportsmanship, discipline, and healthy competition among students.
Congratulating the young achievers, Dr. (Hon.) Sonal Mediratta, Principal, DPS Leh, and Major General Mohinder Singh Sagoch (Retd.), Director, DPS Leh, applauded the students for their dedication and perseverance. They also expressed appreciation to the Physical Education Department, coaches, teachers, and parents for their invaluable support and encouragement.
