KARGIL: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, on Friday welcomed the decision of the Union Territory Administration to extend the last date for submission of applications for UPSC (Ladakh) recruitment till July 24, saying the move would enable more eligible candidates to avail themselves of the opportunity.

Expressing gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Vinai Kumar Saxena, Chief Secretary Ashish Kundra (IAS) and the UT Administration, Dr. Akhoon said the extension came in response to concerns raised by students who had sought additional time to complete their applications.

According to the CEC, a large number of aspirants had approached him, stating that the earlier deadline could prevent several eligible candidates from submitting their applications. Taking up the matter with the Chief Secretary, he requested the administration to consider extending the closing date to ensure that deserving candidates were not left out of the recruitment process.

The UT Administration subsequently extended the deadline to July 24, providing additional time for applicants to complete the online application process.

Dr. Akhoon appealed to all eligible aspirants who are yet to submit their applications to do so well before the revised deadline, emphasising that no eligible candidate should lose the opportunity due to delay.

He also conveyed his best wishes to candidates preparing for the UPSC (Ladakh) recruitment process and expressed hope for their success in the forthcoming selection process.
