ZANSKAR: As part of the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorations, the Fire and Fury Corps of the Indian Army, in collaboration with Community Health Centre (CHC) Padum and the 13 Border Roads Task Force (13 BRTF), organised a medical camp in the remote villages of Stongday, Zangla and Shilingskit in Zanskar district on Saturday, extending healthcare services to residents living in far-flung areas.

The outreach programme benefited 248 patients, who received medical consultations and essential treatment from Medical Officers of the Indian Army and specialist doctors from CHC Padum.

The camp was aimed at improving access to healthcare for residents of remote villages where medical facilities remain limited due to geographical challenges. Patients were examined for a range of health conditions and provided necessary medical care during the initiative.

The medical outreach formed part of the Indian Army’s civil outreach activities being conducted alongside the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorations, reflecting continued cooperation between the Army, civil healthcare authorities and infrastructure agencies in serving remote communities across Ladakh.

According to the organisers, the initiative sought to strengthen engagement with local communities by delivering healthcare services while reinforcing the longstanding relationship between the Indian Army and the people of Ladakh through humanitarian assistance and community welfare programmes.
