NUBRA: Digitised land records for five revenue villages in Nubra were formally published on Monday under the Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP), in a move aimed at making land-related services more accessible and reducing dependence on physical records.
Deputy Commissioner, Nubra, Mukul Beniwal, IAS, formally published the digitised records for Khalsar and Lakjung in the presence of Tehsildar Sumoor/Diskit Tashis Jorgais. Records for Hundri and Chulungkha were published by SDM Nubra Mohd Sufder Bhat, JKAS, while those for Khemi were published by Naib Tehsildar Zakir Hussain.
Addressing residents at Khalsar and Tirith, Beniwal said digitisation would help establish a more transparent, reliable and accessible system of land-record management while simplifying the delivery of revenue-related services.
He said computerised land records and digitised survey maps would make it easier for residents to access documents required for loans, sale and rental transactions and various government schemes, while reducing the need for repeated visits to government offices.
The Deputy Commissioner also urged residents to ensure that their land records were properly digitised, noting that several existing and proposed government initiatives, including AgriStack, are expected to use digitised land records.
Ladakh has been undertaking the digitisation of land records under DILRMP to build a modern and transparent land-record management system. The UT’s Land Records portal provides online access to revenue information, including Records of Rights, Jamabandi, Girdawari and mutation records. (Ladakh Land Records)
The programme is intended to improve access to land information, support better record management and reduce the need for physical visits to revenue offices. The national DILRMP framework also seeks to improve land-record transparency, reduce disputes and facilitate information sharing between government agencies. (Dord)
Beniwal thanked residents and revenue officials for their cooperation in completing the digitisation process and urged them to make use of the emerging digital land-record services.
