LEH: Former Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of the BJP-led Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, was honoured at a thanksgiving function organised by the Leh Phudo Gochak Chosdey Tsokspa on Sunday in recognition of the support extended to the organisation during his tenure in office.

The event was organised to acknowledge Gyalson’s role in facilitating infrastructure development and the expansion of facilities at Chagtsal Gang and the Kongtsik Area Development, including the lunch serving area, through the approval of projects worth several crores during his tenure as CEC.

The programme was attended by the Venerable Khenpo, monks and members of the Gochak community. BJP District President Rigzin Chubi, Er. Wangyal Tsering and BJP Lower Leh Mandal President Thinless Chosdup Chos were among those present.

During the function, the President and Executive Members of the Gochak Chosdey Tsokspa expressed appreciation for Gyalson’s efforts in addressing issues concerning the Gochak community, particularly those related to its annual traditional observances. They also acknowledged his tenure as Chairman of LAHDC Leh, describing his initiatives as contributing to public welfare and community development.

Responding to the felicitation, Gyalson thanked the organisers for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to the welfare of the Gochak community. He said he would continue to support initiatives aimed at preserving and promoting the community’s cultural and religious heritage.

The programme concluded with participants reiterating the importance of collective efforts towards preserving Ladakh’s cultural traditions and strengthening community institutions.
