LEH: Former Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of the BJP-led Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson was felicitated on Saturday during a reception held in honour of His Eminence Drubwang Konchok Tashi Rinpoche at Lamayuru Photang, where religious leaders, public representatives and devotees gathered to mark the occasion.

Adv. Gyalson, accompanied by BJP Sham District President Konchok Ishay Stak and former Councillor Dr. Morup Dorjay, attended the luncheon hosted in honour of the Buddhist spiritual leader. During the programme, Adv. Gyalson and Dr. Dorjay were recognised for their contributions towards the welfare and development of Lamayuru and Lamayuru Gonpa.

The event drew the participation of Venerable Lobon of Lamayuru Gonpa, monks, Sham Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) President Tsering Norboo, Nambardar of Skurbuchan Tsering Paldan, Nambardars from Lamayuru, Wanla, Nurla and other villages, besides a large gathering of devotees from Lamayuru and adjoining areas.

The reception combined religious observances with community participation and featured cultural performances showcasing the traditional heritage of the region.

Addressing the gathering, Adv. Gyalson and other speakers reflected on the importance of preserving Ladakh’s cultural and spiritual traditions while acknowledging the role of religious institutions in fostering social cohesion and community welfare.

The programme concluded with an address by His Eminence Drubwang Konchok Tashi Rinpoche, who offered spiritual guidance and blessings to those present.
