LEH: In a major administrative step aimed at ensuring a seamless institutional transition, the Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh has constituted a Joint Committee to oversee the transfer of assets, records and other related matters pertaining to the State Medicinal Plant Board (SMPB) from the Health & Medical Education Department to the Forest, Ecology & Environment Department.

The committee has been constituted through order issued by the General Administration Department following a reference received from the Health & Medical Education Department. The move is intended to facilitate an orderly and transparent administrative transition of the Board while ensuring continuity in its functioning.

According to the order, the five-member committee brings together officials from both the outgoing and incoming departments to coordinate every aspect of the transfer process. The members include Dr. Tashi Thinlas, Chief Executive Officer of the State Medicinal Plant Board; Amarjeet Kujur, IFS, Deputy Conservator of Forests (HQ); Yangchan Dolma, Accounts Officer, Directorate of Health Services; Jigjat Gyalpo, Section Officer, Directorate of Health Services; and Stanzin Geleck, Range Officer, Nubra and Durbuk.

The committee has been entrusted with overseeing the transfer of the Board’s assets, official records and all other matters arising from the administrative shift, ensuring that the transition is completed without disrupting the functioning of the State Medicinal Plant Board.
