LEH: Former Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal has inaugurated a school bus sponsored by him and a Bhoti Language Lab at TDM Ladakh Model School, Gonpa, Leh, in a programme focused on strengthening educational facilities and supporting Bhoti language learning.
The Bhoti Language Lab, initiated by Ven Stanzin Nurboo, has been established at the school for the first time, according to the school community.
Namgyal was welcomed by the school community during his visit. The inauguration of the two facilities was attended by members of the school and the local community.
The new school bus is expected to supplement the institution’s transport facilities, while the language laboratory is intended to provide students with a dedicated facility for learning and engaging with Bhoti.
The programme also underlined the role of educational institutions in preserving and promoting the region’s linguistic heritage while providing students with improved learning facilities.
The school community expressed gratitude to Namgyal for sponsoring the bus and to Ven Stanzin Nurboo for initiating the language laboratory.
The press note also stated that the Education Department of the UT of Ladakh had confirmed TDM Ladakh Model School, Gonpa, Leh, as one of the top-performing government schools in the Union Territory.
It attributed the school’s performance to Headmaster Tsering Angmo and members of the teaching and support staff for their efforts towards the education and development of students.
The school community said the new facilities would add to the institution’s efforts to provide students with a broader learning environment while strengthening access to language education.
