MY Bharat Leh and NSS Leh-Ladakh, under the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, will organise the programme at EJM College, Leh

LEH: Young people across India will come together on August 27 for Khelo India Samvaad – “Khel Ki Baat PM Ke Saath”, a nationwide youth engagement initiative aimed at placing young voices at the centre of India’s sporting journey.

In Ladakh, Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) Leh and NSS Leh Ladakh, under the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, will organise the programme at EJM College, Leh.

The initiative, being held in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a fit, disciplined and sporting nation, will provide youth an opportunity to engage with India’s evolving sports ecosystem and share their ideas and aspirations concerning sports, leadership and nation-building.

The programme will be conducted simultaneously across States and Union Territories. It will begin with the Prime Minister’s virtual address through a central live feed, followed by a district-level interaction involving sportspersons, public representatives and young participants.

A key feature of Khelo India Samvaad will be Yuva Samvaad, a dedicated 15-minute youth listening session designed not merely as a conventional question-and-answer exercise but as a platform for young people to articulate their views and aspirations.

Suggestions emerging from the session will be documented and carried forward for consideration in the policy process.

The discussions will centre on four broad themes — improving India’s sports ecosystem; nurturing talent for the 2036 Olympics; creating youth leaders and enhancing youth participation in governance; and empowering youth for Viksit Bharat.

The deliberations are expected to cover issues ranging from sports infrastructure, coaching, nutrition and talent identification to leadership, volunteering, civic responsibility, skills and meaningful participation in nation-building.

The district-level programme will also feature a moderated interaction between a youth icon and a local sportsperson. The discussion will focus on the transformation of India’s sports infrastructure over the past decade, the growth of sporting opportunities and the country’s preparations for forthcoming Olympic and Commonwealth Games.

MY Bharat volunteers will play an important role in organising the programme and promoting youth-led activities at the district level. The event will conclude with the National Anthem, a group photograph and a brief media interaction. A Fit India or sporting activity may also be organised by the host college.

Participants will further be encouraged to register on the MY Bharat portal, submit their ideas through the MY Bharat Suggestions Box and participate in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027 Quiz.

National Sports Day, observed annually to commemorate the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, provides the backdrop for the nationwide initiative.

Khelo India Samvaad 2026 seeks to transform the occasion into a broader platform for youth participation, sporting aspiration and nation-building, reinforcing the vision of a youth-led sporting movement and Viksit Bharat@2047.
