LEH: The Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council–Subordinate Services Recruitment Board (LAHD-SSRB) on Saturday conducted the counselling process for candidates provisionally shortlisted for recruitment to various graduation-level posts, with officials stating that the exercise was carried out in a transparent and merit-based manner.
The recruitment process is aimed at filling 112 vacancies, for which 234 candidates had been provisionally shortlisted and invited to participate in the counselling.
Secretary, LAHD-SSRB, and Deputy Director, District Employment and Counselling Centre, Leh, Rehmatullah Butt (JKAS) welcomed the candidates and briefed them on the counselling procedure. He also explained the process for filling the required forms and advised candidates to seek assistance from officials in case of any difficulty during the exercise.
According to the Board, the counselling was organised to obtain post and department preferences from the shortlisted candidates before final allocation.
During the process, candidates were given the opportunity to exercise their preferences strictly in accordance with their position in the merit list. Those placed higher in merit were accorded priority in selecting the posts for which they had been shortlisted, following which they opted for departments against the vacancies available.
Officials said the counselling was conducted in a systematic manner to facilitate a smooth and fair allocation process while ensuring transparency and adherence to the prescribed merit criteria.
