The medal winners, Stanzin Khando (A) and Stanzin Khando (B), were felicitated upon their return to Ladakh by Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena, who congratulated the students for their performance and described their achievement as the outcome of sustained discipline, perseverance and commitment.
Accompanied by their parents, the students paid a courtesy visit to Ven. He said their constant encouragement and guidance had played an important role in enabling the students to excel at the competition.
Highlighting the broader significance of the achievement, Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena said the success of the young skaters should serve as an inspiration for other students to pursue excellence through dedication, discipline and self-belief while remaining grounded in humility and perseverance.
The Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre said the accomplishment reflects the institution’s continued emphasis on nurturing talent beyond academics by encouraging students to participate in competitive sporting disciplines.
The institution further expressed confidence that the success of Stanzin Khando (A) and Stanzin Khando (B) would motivate more young athletes from Ladakh to pursue figure skating and other competitive sports, while wishing the two students continued success at future national and international competitions.
