Mandaviya reaches Leh, reviews MY Bharat’s ‘Vibrant Village Programme’

LEH:  Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, received a traditional Ladakhi welcome upon his arrival in Leh, where he reviewed the ongoing Viksit Vibrant Village Programme and interacted with youth volunteers of MY Bharat, reaffirming the Centre’s commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive development in border regions.

The Minister was warmly received by Ms. Tajamul Ara, State Director, and Khushal Gupta, Deputy Director of MY Bharat, Leh-Ladakh, along with enthusiastic MY Bharat volunteers. The reception featured traditional Ladakhi music and the ceremonial presentation of Khataks, symbolizing respect, hospitality, and goodwill.

During his interaction with the volunteers, Dr. Mandaviya appreciated their dedication towards nation-building and community service, describing young people as the driving force behind India’s development journey. He encouraged the volunteers to actively participate in developmental initiatives and contribute meaningfully to the vision of a Viksit Bharat, emphasizing that youth engagement is essential for building a stronger and more inclusive nation.

A key highlight of the visit was the Minister’s review of the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme, being organized by MY Bharat, Ladakh, from June 3 to June 30. The month-long initiative has brought together youth participants from six States and Union Territories—Gujarat, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam, and Lakshadweep—to provide firsthand exposure to life in border villages while promoting cultural exchange, community engagement, and youth participation in the development of strategically important frontier regions.

The participants shared their experiences, ideas, and aspirations with the Minister, who commended MY Bharat, Ladakh, for successfully organizing the programme. He underscored the importance of empowering young people to build resilient communities and contribute to the socio-economic development of the country, particularly in remote and border areas.

The visit reinforced the Government of India’s continued focus on harnessing the energy and potential of the youth through flagship initiatives such as MY Bharat and the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme, aimed at fostering leadership, national integration, and sustainable development across the country’s border regions.
