NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday reviewed the progress of the India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership and exchanged views on the evolving situation in West Asia during a telephone conversation.
Sharing details of the call on X, Modi said he and Netanyahu reviewed the progress made across various facets of the bilateral relationship, which he described as continuing to grow “from strength to strength”.
“Received a phone call from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. We reviewed progress on various aspects of the India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership which continues to grow from strength-to-strength. We also exchanged views on the current situation in West Asia,” Modi posted.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation across a range of sectors for the mutual benefit of India and Israel. “The two leaders reviewed sustained progress in India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the bilateral cooperation across various sectors,” the PMO said in a statement.
The conversation also focused on the rapidly evolving situation in West Asia, though neither side disclosed specific details of the discussions.
The call comes at a time when the region continues to witness heightened geopolitical tensions, with India closely monitoring developments while maintaining engagement with all key stakeholders in West Asia. New Delhi has consistently called for dialogue, de-escalation and the peaceful resolution of regional conflicts. The PMO said Modi and Netanyahu agreed to remain in touch.
