LEH: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Leh, has announced that the 3rd National Lok Adalat will be held in Leh on September 12, 2026, offering litigants and the general public an opportunity to settle a wide range of pre-litigation and pending court cases through amicable resolution.
According to a notice issued by the Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Leh, the National Lok Adalat is scheduled for September 12 from 10 am, while pre-Lok Adalat sessions will be conducted from September 7 to 11. Interested persons can approach the DLSA Leh and the Tehsil Legal Services Committees at Nobra and Khalsi for resolution of their disputes.
The initiative covers a broad spectrum of disputes, including Negotiable Instruments (NI) Act cases under Section 138, money recovery matters, labour and employment disputes, electricity and water bill payment cases, maintenance cases and other compoundable criminal and civil disputes at the pre-litigation stage.
For cases already pending before courts, the Lok Adalat will take up compoundable criminal offences, NI Act cases, money recovery matters, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) cases, labour and employment disputes, utility bill-related cases, matrimonial disputes and land acquisition matters.
It will also cover service matters concerning pay, allowances and retiral benefits, revenue cases pending before District and subordinate courts, and other civil disputes, including matters relating to rent, easementary rights, injunctions and specific performance.
The DLSA Leh has accordingly appealed to all litigants as well as members of the general public interested in securing an amicable settlement of their disputes to make use of the National Lok Adalat and the pre-Lok Adalat sessions.
