Over 100 GHSS Turtuk students visit UoL on educational tour

LEH: More than 100 students and teachers of Government Higher Secondary School, Turtuk, Nubra, visited the University of Ladakh (UoL), Leh Campus, on Friday as part of an exposure and educational tour aimed at familiarising students with higher education opportunities and the university’s academic environment.

The visiting students toured laboratories, the university library and various academic departments, gaining an overview of courses, teaching and learning facilities, research activities and campus infrastructure.

Prof Saket Kushwaha, HVC, University of Ladakh, welcomed the delegation and encouraged the students to explore the university’s academic and research facilities and interact with faculty members. He also encouraged them to consider pursuing higher education at the University of Ladakh.

An interactive session was subsequently held between the visiting students and teachers and university faculty. Faculty members briefed the students on courses offered by the university, career opportunities, pathways to higher education and facilities available on campus.

The students actively participated in the interaction and showed interest in learning about different academic disciplines and opportunities available at the university.

The visit also gave students an opportunity to gain direct exposure to the university environment before completing their school education. Several students expressed a desire to pursue higher studies at the University of Ladakh.

The students and teachers appreciated the university’s academic environment, laboratories, library, infrastructure and campus facilities.

The university said the exposure visit formed part of its efforts to engage with schools across Ladakh, increase awareness of higher education opportunities and encourage students to pursue higher studies within the region.

The initiative is intended to help school students gain a clearer understanding of academic and career pathways and make informed choices about their future education.
