LEH: Rajesh Kumar Singh, IRSS (2002), has assumed additional charge as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), NHPC Limited, for a period of six months or until the appointment of a regular CVO, whichever is earlier.

Singh assumed charge of the post on October 6, 2026, while continuing to serve as CVO of Power Finance Corporation (PFC). He has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of CVO, NHPC, a Navratna public sector enterprise under the Government of India and a major hydropower company.

His additional charge will continue for six months from the date of assumption, or until a regular CVO is appointed in NHPC, or until further orders, whichever occurs first.

Singh holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication from IIT Roorkee and an M.Tech in Communication Systems from IIT (BHU), Varanasi. He has also completed a Senior Leadership Programme in Singapore, Malaysia and China.

An officer with more than 24 years of experience in Indian Railways, Singh has held a range of operational, procurement and administrative assignments during his career.

His previous positions include Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operations), NER, Banaras Division, and Chief Materials Manager at Modern Coach Factory, Raebareli, where he was responsible for overseeing procurement activities.

Singh has worked across procurement, vigilance, information technology and material management, besides handling cross-functional teams in different assignments.

His experience across these areas has included responsibilities related to operational integrity, procurement systems and vigilance administration, with the NHPC assignment adding another senior public-sector vigilance responsibility to his current portfolio.
