KARGIL: A scholarly and literary gathering titled “Sada-e-Zainab (SA)” was organised in Kargil by the Baqir-ul-Uloom Research and Educational Centre, bringing together scholars, intellectuals, writers, poets and students to examine the life, sacrifices, courage, scholarship and teachings of Hazrat Zainab Kubra (SA).

The gathering focused particularly on Hazrat Zainab’s role in carrying forward the message of Karbala, with speakers underlining her courage, eloquence, patience and steadfastness in confronting oppression following the tragedy.

Former Director and KAS officer Tahir Hussain Zubdavi, who was the chief guest, said the courage and eloquence displayed by Hazrat Zainab after Karbala helped preserve and convey its message to the wider world.

He said the values associated with her life — faith, patience, courage, truth, dignity and resistance to oppression — continued to hold relevance for women, youth and society.

Zubdavi also appreciated the Baqir-ul-Uloom Research and Educational Centre for organising the programme and praised Dr Sheikh Hassanian Mifasseri for his contribution towards research, study and intellectual discourse in Islamic scholarship.

He stressed the need for credible scholarly platforms to present authentic Islamic knowledge to younger generations, particularly at a time when social media has become a major source of information.

The programme featured scholarly papers, poetry and Manqabat, with poets Ali Asgar Rinchen, Ghulam Raza Balti, Ashraf Ali Sagar, Raza Amjad Badgami and Yaseen Ansari presenting their works.

A Tarahee Musalma was also held around the Misra-e-Tarah, “Beti Ali Ki Fateh-e-Darbar-e-Sham Hai,” with poets reflecting on Hazrat Zainab’s role and spiritual strength following the tragedy of Karbala.

Scholarly presentations were delivered by Taqi Khan Nayab, Syed Hadi Shah, Prof. Nasir Shabani and Engineer Haji Hussain, who examined historical, intellectual and spiritual aspects of Hazrat Zainab’s life and mission.

Historian and scholar Master Sadiq Hardassi conducted the proceedings, linking the different sessions and presentations with historical and scholarly context.

The event also witnessed the formal release of “Shahid-e-Ummat”, a compilation of articles presented at a conference held a month earlier on Shaheed Rehbar-e-Muazzam Syed Ali Khamenei.

Results of a book-reading competition organised to promote reading and intellectual development among youth were also announced. Sixty-nine young participants took part, with the top nine performers receiving awards.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Haji Anayatullah Rahi, who expressed gratitude to the chief guest, scholars, poets, intellectuals, participants and others involved in organising the gathering.

The event sought to reinforce the role of scholarly engagement in preserving the teachings associated with Ahl-e-Bait (AS) and communicating the message of Karbala to younger generations.
