KHALTSI: A crime and security review meeting was held at District Police Headquarters, Sham, with SSP Sham Malik Aijaz, JKPS, reviewing the overall crime situation and policing arrangements in the district.

The meeting focused on the investigation and expeditious disposal of pending cases, crime prevention, law and order, and effective supervision of ongoing investigations. Detailed deliberations were held on measures required to improve the pace and quality of investigations and ensure that cases are dealt with in a timely and merit-based manner.

Chairing the meeting, SSP Malik Aijaz stressed the need for professional and accountable policing, directing officers to maintain close supervision over investigations and ensure that pending cases are taken to their logical conclusion without avoidable delay.

He also emphasised stronger coordination among different police units and a prompt response to public grievances. Officers were directed to adopt a proactive approach towards crime prevention and remain vigilant against emerging security and law-and-order challenges.

The SSP called for effective implementation of policing measures at the ground level, with particular emphasis on public safety and maintaining a responsive policing system. The meeting concluded with directions to all concerned officers to maintain heightened vigilance, strengthen preventive measures and ensure effective coordination for the safety and security of the general public.
