LEH: Students of Government Middle School Phyang on Tuesday got hands-on exposure to science and mathematics as the STEM Lab Bus of the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, conducted activity-based learning sessions at the school.
The initiative introduced students to practical experiments and interactive demonstrations in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics, allowing them to explore concepts beyond conventional classroom teaching.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Principal DIET Leh Sonam Dorjey Namgail and Head of Science Department Tsering Yangdol. The sessions were facilitated by Science Resource Persons Chetna Sharma, Kunzes Dolma and Rashida Parveen, along with Mathematics Resource Person Sonam Diskit.

The Headmaster of Government Middle School Phyang appreciated the initiative, noting that practical STEM sessions provide students an opportunity to move beyond textbook-based learning and engage with scientific concepts through direct experience.
The visit formed part of DIET Leh’s ongoing Mobile STEM Lab initiative aimed at taking experiential and activity-based learning to schools across Ladakh. The programme seeks to nurture curiosity and creativity among students while developing sustained interest in Science and Mathematics.
DIET Leh said it remains committed to expanding practical and innovative STEM learning opportunities for students and making classroom learning more engaging and experience-oriented.
