LEH: Two former Army officers from Dehradun have completed a 10-day motorcycle expedition across Ladakh, traversing multiple high-altitude mountain passes above 5,000 metres during a 3,100-km journey that culminated on Thursday.
The expedition was undertaken by the Skyriders team comprising Col. R.S. Sidhu of the Mechanised Infantry Regiment and Capt. N.S. Bisht of the Eight Gorkha Rifles Regiment. According to the organisers, the ride established a national benchmark by negotiating the highest number of mountain passes above the 5,000-metre elevation during a single expedition.
Beginning in Dehradun, the route covered Mamun, Srinagar, Leh, Patsio and Zirakpur, with nearly 1,400 km of the journey completed across the challenging terrain of Ladakh over five days.
The expedition was conducted under the theme “Shakti se Samarthya”, highlighting endurance, disciplined execution and the spirit of service associated with Indian veterans.
The organisers described the expedition as a demonstration of meticulous planning, physical endurance and resilience required to negotiate some of the country’s most demanding high-altitude routes.
