LEH: Participants of the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme (VVVP) 2026 from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and Assam continued their educational and cultural engagement in Ladakh on Monday, combining high-altitude exploration with an interactive cultural exchange aimed at fostering national integration.

The day began with comprehensive medical examinations to assess the health and fitness of participants before they embarked on a visit to Khardung La Pass, situated at an altitude of 18,380 feet and regarded among the world’s highest motorable roads.

The young delegates were captivated by the sweeping mountain vistas and distinctive terrain of the trans-Himalayan region. The visit offered them first-hand exposure to Ladakh’s unique geographical features and challenging high-altitude environment, adding a memorable dimension to their learning experience.

Following the excursion, participants took part in a cultural exchange programme where they showcased the folk traditions, cultural heritage and artistic expressions of their respective regions. The event provided a platform for meaningful interaction among youth representing diverse parts of the country.

The exchange witnessed participants sharing cultural performances and traditions, promoting greater understanding of India’s social and cultural plurality. The programme also reinforced the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ by encouraging dialogue, cooperation and camaraderie among participants from geographically distant regions.

Officials associated with the initiative said the programme continues to serve as a platform for experiential learning, enabling participants to gain deeper insights into India’s varied landscapes, traditions and ways of life. Through such interactions, the initiative seeks to strengthen national unity while exposing young citizens to the country’s rich cultural and geographical diversity.
