Former CEC Leh Tashi Gyalson leads reception
LEH: His Eminence Jetsun Stanzin Leksmon, recognised as the reincarnation of His Eminence Kyabje Gaden Thrizur Rinpoche, the 102nd Gaden Throne Holder of the Gelug tradition, was accorded a ceremonial welcome in Leh on Thursday during his first visit to Ladakh, with former Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor of the BJP-led Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson leading the reception.
The reception was attended by senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and a large gathering of devotees, who assembled to receive the Buddhist spiritual leader and mark the occasion with prayers and religious observances.
The visit, described by organisers as a historic occasion, drew devotees from across the region, reflecting the reverence accorded to the Gelug tradition and the enduring place of Buddhist teachings in Ladakh’s spiritual and cultural life.
During the reception, prayers were offered for the long life and good health of His Eminence and for the continued flourishing of the Buddha Dharma. Devotees also prayed for peace, compassion and the well-being of all sentient beings.
Addressing the occasion through the ceremonial proceedings, organisers expressed hope that His Eminence’s visit would inspire greater wisdom, compassion and unity among the people while strengthening the region’s spiritual heritage.
The gathering concluded with devotees offering traditional respects to His Eminence, underscoring the significance of the maiden visit for the Buddhist community in Ladakh.
