LEH: A four-member team from the CBSE Academic Unit, New Delhi, visited the DIET Leh Centre and Government Model Boys Higher Secondary School, Leh, on Friday to review remedial coaching classes for Class 10 and 12 students being conducted ahead of the forthcoming CBSE examinations.

The visit was part of a one-month expert teaching programme being implemented across the Union Territory of Ladakh to provide additional academic support to students and teachers and strengthen examination preparedness.

The CBSE team comprises Anjali Chhabara, Al Hilal Ahmed, Dr Meena Sehrawat and Prachi Dixit, Additional Directors and Associate Professors. The team is visiting Ladakh from September 12 to 22 and is providing academic support in Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Economics.

During the visit, the academic experts interacted with students and reviewed the progress of the remedial coaching sessions at the two centres. The classes were reported to be progressing smoothly, with students actively participating in the learning activities.

Students also shared feedback on the coaching sessions, expressing appreciation for the additional academic support. The interaction enabled the visiting experts to understand students’ learning requirements and provide subject-specific guidance.

The programme is being conducted under the directions and guidance of Bhanu Prabha, IAS, Administrative Secretary, School Education, UT Ladakh.

At the DIET Leh Centre, the visiting officers were welcomed by S.D. Namgail, Principal, DIET Leh, through the traditional Khatak ceremony.

The expert teaching programme is aimed at supplementing regular classroom instruction with specialised academic guidance, particularly for students preparing for the CBSE board examinations.

Besides helping students address subject-related learning gaps, the programme provides teachers with access to academic experts and creates opportunities for direct interaction on teaching and learning requirements.

The School Education Department said the initiative reflects its continuing efforts to strengthen academic support and improve learning outcomes for students across Ladakh, particularly those appearing for the forthcoming CBSE examinations.
