KHALTSE: A three-day training programme for Enumerators and Supervisors engaged in Census 2027 operations began at the Conference Hall of the DC Office, Sham, Khaltse, with officials stressing accuracy and completeness in the collection of grassroots-level population data.
The training, being conducted from August 20 to 22, is being held under the supervision of Sub-Division Census Officer/Charge Officer, Khaltse, Mohd. Sharif, and Deputy Charge Officer, Khaltse, Attaullah Khan.
Field Trainers Dr. Zakir Hussain and Tsewang Dorjay conducted the sessions through PowerPoint presentations based on guidelines issued by the Director of Census Operations for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
The training focused on the second phase of Census 2027, relating to Population Enumeration, with participants being briefed on various aspects of the exercise, including its objectives and the importance of Census data for demographic assessment, planning, policy formulation and development activities.
Addressing the participants, Deputy Charge Officer Attaullah Khan underlined the role of Enumerators and Supervisors in ensuring reliable data collection at the grassroots level. He urged the officials to participate attentively in the training and maintain accuracy and completeness while carrying out the enumeration exercise.
The trainers also explained the scope of the Population Enumeration phase scheduled from August 20 to 22, while highlighting the Census as an important source of demographic information.
The training was attended by all designated Enumerators and Supervisors, besides Technical Assistant Tsering Namgail.
