LEH: A three-day training programme for enumerators and supervisors of Tehsil Leh began at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Wednesday, as part of preparations for the Population Enumeration under the second phase of Census 2027.
The training, being held from August 19 to 21, is aimed at familiarising field personnel with the procedures, tools and practical requirements involved in conducting the population enumeration accurately and systematically.
During the programme, Arun Kumar, JD Census Operations, along with Jatinder Kumar, Assistant Director, Census Operations and Nodal Officer for Ladakh UT, CPO Leh and Nodal Officer for District Leh Konchok Gyalson, and Census District Coordinator Tashi Otsal, visited the venue and interacted with the trainees.
The officials briefed participants on various aspects of the census exercise and stressed the need for accurate, systematic and careful data collection during the field exercise.
Field trainers Mohammad Rohulla and Zahir Ahmad conducted presentations covering practical and field-level aspects of population enumeration. The sessions also included guidance on questions related to digital literacy and other areas to be covered during the enumeration process.
The trainers also urged residents of Ladakh to complete Self Enumeration through the official Census portal, which is currently open for residents of the Union Territory. Residents have been advised to complete the process by August 31, 2026. Census Self Enumeration Portal
The training is intended to equip enumerators and supervisors with the necessary understanding of field procedures and requirements ahead of the Population Enumeration under Census 2027 in Tehsil Leh.
