LEH: The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, on Friday concluded its three-day HPC Training Programme, with more than 480 teachers from six educational zones participating in a capacity-building initiative aimed at strengthening classroom practices and enhancing professional competencies.

Conducted from July 21 to 23 at Ladakh Public School, Leh, the programme brought together teachers from the educational zones of Nubra, Durbuk, Nyoma, Kharu, Leh and Khalsi as part of DIET Leh’s continuing efforts to improve the quality of school education across the Union Territory.

The training was facilitated by resource persons from the NANRITAM Foundation, who led interactive sessions focusing on innovative teaching methodologies, practical classroom strategies and effective pedagogical practices. The sessions combined demonstrations, collaborative learning and classroom-oriented activities to help participants translate training into everyday teaching.

The valedictory function was attended by Principal, DIET Leh, Sonam Dorje Namgyal, who commended the participants for their active involvement and appreciated the contribution of the resource persons in delivering the programme.

Addressing the gathering, the Principal emphasised that continuous professional development remains central to improving classroom instruction and learning outcomes. He encouraged teachers to apply the knowledge and teaching strategies acquired during the training in their respective schools to enhance student engagement and academic achievement.

During the feedback session, participants described the programme as practical, interactive and relevant to classroom requirements. Several teachers said the training had provided them with new approaches to teaching and would support them in adopting learner-centred instructional practices.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Tsering Yangdol, Head of Department, DIET Leh, who acknowledged the contributions of the Principal, the NANRITAM Foundation resource persons, participating teachers and the organising team for ensuring the successful conduct of the training.

DIET Leh said the successful completion of the programme reflects its continued focus on strengthening teacher professional development and improving the overall quality of school education through structured capacity-building initiatives across Ladakh.
