LEH: Eliezer Joldan Memorial College, Leh, observed Teachers’ Day on September 5 with a student-led programme that brought teachers and students together for cultural performances and a ceremony honouring the faculty.

The programme, organised by the college’s newly formed Student Council, was held at the college hall and began at 11 am.

The event opened with a welcome address by Skarma Singey, a first-semester student, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony in which members of the teaching staff participated.

Students and teachers then took part in a series of cultural performances, including songs and dances. The programme also featured Tibetan and traditional dance performances, reflecting the cultural and artistic interests of the college community.

The celebrations concluded with a ceremony in which the General Secretary of the Student Council honoured teachers by offering khatas as a gesture of respect and gratitude.

The programme provided students an opportunity to acknowledge the guidance, support and contribution of their teachers and marked one of the first major programmes organised by the newly constituted Student Council.

The event was organised by the Student Council with the participation of students and faculty members.
