LEH: EJM College, Leh on Friday organised an orientation programme on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 for newly admitted students, coupled with a timetable doubt-clearing session aimed at familiarising fresh entrants with the academic framework and institutional procedures before the commencement of the new academic session.
The programme focused on introducing students to the core provisions of NEP 2020, including its student-centred approach, flexibility in course selection, multidisciplinary learning model, and the academic structure adopted by the college. Faculty members also briefed students on the curriculum framework and institutional practices to facilitate a smooth transition into undergraduate education.
A dedicated session on the academic timetable enabled students to seek clarification on course structures, class schedules, and other academic matters. The initiative was intended to help freshers better understand the functioning of the institution and navigate their academic responsibilities with greater clarity.
The orientation was conducted by members of the College Time Table Committee, including Ms. Stanzin Itga, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry; Dr. Rinchen Tundup, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics; and Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, Assistant Professor, Department of Education. The faculty members explained the implementation of NEP 2020 within the college and responded to students’ queries regarding the academic schedule and related procedures.
The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which students actively engaged with the resource persons and sought clarifications on various academic issues. College authorities said the orientation was designed to equip newly admitted students with a clear understanding of the academic system, enabling them to begin their higher education with confidence and informed decision-making.
