DRASS: The newly created District Drass has taken its first step towards establishing a district-level administrative structure with Dr. Ghulam Mohd, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, and Dr. Zakir Hussain, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, formally assuming charge of their respective offices on Thursday.
The two officers are the first district-level officers to join the newly created district, marking the beginning of the institutionalisation of its administrative setup and strengthening the delivery of Animal Husbandry and Sheep Husbandry services.
The officers were warmly received by LAHDC Councillors, members of the public and staff in Drass, who extended their best wishes to them on assuming their new assignments.
The joining of the officers is expected to strengthen the delivery of livestock-related services and provide a dedicated administrative framework for the sector in the district. The Animal Husbandry and Sheep Husbandry departments are directly linked to the welfare of the farming community and the development of the livestock sector.
On assuming charge, Dr. Ghulam Mohd and Dr. Zakir Hussain expressed their commitment to working with dedication and in coordination with stakeholders for the development of the livestock sector and the welfare of farmers in District Drass.
The arrival of the first district-level officers comes following the creation of District Drass and represents an early phase in setting up its administrative institutions and ensuring that government services are delivered through dedicated district-level offices.
