LEH: The first Pre-Board Examination 2026 commenced successfully at examination centres across the Union Territory of Ladakh, marking an important academic milestone for students of Classes X and XII as they prepare for the upcoming CBSE Board Examinations.
The examinations are being conducted in a systematic manner in accordance with the examination pattern prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued by the School Education Department, ensuring uniformity and effective examination management across all centres in Ladakh.
The Pre-Board examinations are designed as a crucial preparatory exercise to provide students with practical exposure to the CBSE examination format, assessment pattern and time-management requirements. The initiative enables students to evaluate their level of preparedness, identify learning gaps and focus on areas requiring additional improvement before appearing in the final Board examinations.
Education authorities have emphasised the importance of these examinations in strengthening students’ confidence and academic readiness. The exercise also provides schools and teachers with valuable insights into students’ performance, helping them offer targeted academic support and guidance in the remaining preparation period.
With schools across Leh, Kargil and other regions of Ladakh participating, the smooth commencement of the Pre-Board examinations reflects the coordinated efforts of the School Education Department, school administrations, teachers and examination staff to ensure a fair, transparent and disciplined examination environment.
