LEH: Government schools across the Union Territory of Ladakh organised Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) following the declaration of Cycle Test-I results, with the School Education Department reviewing students’ academic performance alongside parents as part of its continuing effort to strengthen classroom learning through regular assessments and school-parent collaboration.

The meetings were held to share individual student performance, identify learning gaps and formulate strategies to improve academic outcomes through coordinated efforts of teachers and parents.

During the interactions, teachers apprised parents of their children’s performance in Cycle Test-I, recognising students who performed well while discussing specific areas requiring academic support for others. The meetings focused on analysing subject-wise progress, identifying learning deficiencies at an early stage and preparing personalised remedial plans to help students improve in subsequent assessments.

Parents actively participated in the discussions, providing feedback on their children’s learning habits and working with teachers to develop strategies aimed at creating a supportive academic environment both at home and in school.

According to the School Education Department, the periodic cycle assessments are designed to function as continuous learning evaluation tools rather than standalone examinations. The assessments enable teachers to monitor students’ conceptual understanding, detect academic difficulties at an early stage and implement timely remedial interventions to improve learning outcomes.

Parents attending the meetings welcomed the academic monitoring framework introduced under the leadership of Administrative Secretary, School Education, Bhanu Prabha. They observed that regular assessments, followed by structured Parent-Teacher Meetings, provide timely feedback on students’ progress, encourage greater parental engagement and facilitate early intervention wherever required.

Education Department officials said strengthening partnerships between schools and families remains central to improving educational standards in Ladakh. They expressed confidence that continuous assessments, structured academic reviews and sustained parental involvement would contribute to better learning outcomes and support the holistic development of students across the Union Territory.
