LEH: The Health Department, Leh, on Thursday acknowledged the contribution of pharmacists to healthcare delivery across the district, particularly those serving in remote areas where difficult terrain and harsh climatic conditions add to the challenges of providing medical services.
The acknowledgement came on the occasion of World Pharmacists Day, observed in Leh district to recognise the role of pharmacists in ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines and supporting healthcare delivery.
Chief Medical Officer, Leh, on behalf of the Health Department, expressed gratitude to pharmacists across the district for their dedicated and selfless service to the people.
The CMO said pharmacists form an important part of the healthcare team and their responsibilities become particularly demanding while working in remote and difficult areas of the district.
“We are truly proud and fortunate to have such dedicated, sincere and hardworking pharmacists as part of our healthcare team. Your unwavering commitment and tireless service to the people, especially in the most remote and challenging areas of the district, is highly commendable,” the CMO said.
Pharmacists play an important role in the safe dispensing and effective use of medicines, while also supporting the functioning of healthcare institutions and the delivery of quality health services.
The Health Department noted that their professional commitment, compassion and sense of responsibility have helped support public healthcare services across Leh district, including areas where difficult terrain and extreme weather conditions can pose additional challenges to healthcare workers.
On the occasion, the department extended its appreciation and gratitude to all pharmacists in Leh district for their continued service and commitment to public healthcare.
