LEH: A medical awareness camp was held at the Sub-Centre in Stakmo on Thursday, providing residents with medical consultations and basic healthcare services as part of efforts to improve access to healthcare at the community level.
The camp was conducted by Dr Shaheena Parveen, Medical Officer at PHC Thiksay, under the direction of Leh Chief Medical Officer Dr Rinchen Chosdol and the guidance of Block Medical Officer Dr Javed Ahmad.
Residents who attended the camp were provided medical consultations and basic healthcare services, with the outreach focused on addressing their immediate healthcare requirements closer to their homes.
The health department said such outreach programmes form part of its continuing efforts to extend essential healthcare services to communities in remote and underserved areas of Leh district.
The initiative also seeks to strengthen the delivery of primary healthcare by taking medical services beyond health facilities and closer to local communities.
