LEH: The 9th Rashtriya Poshan Maah is being observed at Anganwadi Centres in Bogdang, Largyap, Tarsey and Hanuling Skara Yokma, with a focus on nutrition awareness, prevention of malnutrition and anaemia, and improving maternal and child health.
Being observed from September 9 to October 8, 2026, the programme is organised under the aegis of the National Institute of Sowa Rigpa (NISR), Leh, and centres on key nutrition priorities for the community and beneficiaries.
The campaign focuses on promoting awareness about balanced nutrition and healthy dietary practices, while addressing issues related to malnutrition and anaemia among vulnerable groups.
It also places emphasis on maternal and child health and personal hygiene, with the Anganwadi centres serving as platforms for community-level awareness and engagement.
The month-long observance seeks to encourage healthier dietary and hygiene practices among beneficiaries and the wider community, while reinforcing awareness of the importance of adequate nutrition in preventing health and developmental problems.
The programme will continue across the identified Anganwadi Centres until October 8.
