LEH: The Union Territory Administration of Ladakh has renamed Tehsil Turtuk as Tehsil Turtuk-Bogdang and included Revenue Village Bogdang within the newly renamed tehsil in Nubra district. The decision was notified by the Revenue Department through Notification S.O. 236.
According to the notification, the change has been made as a partial modification of earlier government notifications S.O. 180 of 2026 and S.O. 210 dated July 12, 2026. The notification further states that the new administrative arrangement will come into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
The move is expected to strengthen the administrative recognition of the area and facilitate more inclusive governance for residents of both Turtuk and Bogdang.
