KARGIL: Police Station Kargil cracked a shop theft case involving Rs 90,000 within about 10 hours of receiving the complaint, recovering the alleged stolen cash along with mobile phones and other articles purchased from the money.
Police received information from Mohd Ibrahim, a resident of Naqtoo Baroo, alleging that persons had entered his shop and fled with cash amounting to Rs 90,000. An FIR was subsequently registered and an investigation launched.
Police examined CCTV footage from the shop and surrounding areas, including possible exit routes. During the examination, several individuals were noticed in the footage and were subsequently identified in connection with the case following further investigation and analysis of available evidence.
The investigation led to the recovery of the cash alleged to have been stolen, besides two mobile phones and other articles. These included two smart watches, a pair of football shoes and a football jersey, which police said had been purchased using the allegedly stolen money.
Police said the individuals identified during the investigation were minors. Accordingly, further proceedings are being conducted in accordance with the applicable provisions of law.
The case was worked out within approximately 10 hours of the police receiving the information, according to the statement.
The investigation remains in progress, with further action to be taken in accordance with law.
